Flame-retardant and crease-proofing finishing of cotton fabrics via in-situ copolymerization of ethylene phytic acid and itaconic acid, part I: Fabrication process

چکیده

Ethylene phytic acid and unsaturated itaconic could be copolymerized in-situ cross-linked on the cotton fabrics to enhance flame-retardant crease-proofing properties. Natural was modified with glycidyl meth-acrylate characterized by IR, 1H NMR, TG. The IR indicated that new characteristic absorption peaks appear near 1720 c/m, 1470 1380 1002 c/m for molar ratios acid: methacrylate of 1:3 or 1:6, correspond bending vibration C=O, C?H, CH3, C=O?O respectively in methacrylate. NMR results further confirmed reaction between acid, TG revealed thermal properties acid.

Anti-crease finishing of cotton fabrics based on crosslinking of cellulose with acryloyl malic acid.

Maleic acid (MA) has been explored to replace formaldehyde-based dimethylol dihydroxy ethylene urea (DMDHEU) for cotton anti-crease finishing. However, the resilience of treated fabrics was not satisfactorily improved. In this study, acryloyl malic acid (AMA) was synthesized and applied on fabrics as a novel crosslinking agent. The results showed that both crease recovery angle and whiteness in...

Preparation of Flame Retardant Polystyrene via In-Situ Bulk Polymerization Method and Evaluation of its Flammability Properties

In this study, in-situ bulk polymerization was investigated for obtaining flame retardant polystyrene (PS). The halogenated and phosphoric compounds were used as flame retardant additives and Perkadox 30 was used as a synergist. The flammability of the PS was evaluated by thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), limiting oxygen index (LOI) and UL-94 tests. The results show that polymerization process ...

Effect of Oxygen Plasma Pretreatment and Titanium Dioxide Overlay Coating on Flame Retardant Finished Cotton Fabrics

Flammability properties of plasma pretreated cotton fabrics subjected to flame-retardant treatment were studied. Plasma pretreatment, using an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ), was applied to cotton fabrics to enhance material properties, while retaining inherent advantages of the substrates. An organic phosphorus compound (flame-retardant agent, FR) together with a melamine resin (crossl...
